Experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday spoke highly of the Chinese government's cooperation with them in bird flu prevention and control.
"China has done a great job in exchanging information with the WHO and we have exchanged a great deal of precious information on bird flu in China," said Julie Hall, WHO's permanent inspector in Beijing.
Hall and other four WHO experts arrived at Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province, on Monday to probe the three cases of "pneumonia of an unknown cause."
The experts will take the samples of the three cases while trying to learn more about the symptoms of this sort of patients in China for research.
"At the same time, Chinese experts will also share with us the samples we took in other countries and our experience," said the WHO expert.
The three pneumonia cases, which all occurred in Xiangtan County, some 50 km from Changsha, involved a 12-year-old girl who died on Oct. 17, her 9-year-old brother, who was discharged from hospital last Friday after 25 days of treatment, and a 36-year-old school teacher, who is still in hospital.
