Indonesia, Australia, the Philippines to cooperate in anti-terrorismThe Indonesian Police Friday signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with their Australian and Philippine counterparts on cooperation in the prevention and eradication of transnational crime and terrorism. The cooperation covers the eradication of drug abuse, terrorism, arms smuggling, human trafficking, cyber, banking and commercial crimes, crimes at sea, money laundering and travel document counterfeiting. Under the MoUs, the Indonesian Police and their counterparts would set up a joint committee to cope with and prevent transnational crime, Antara news agency reported. The signing of the MoUs comes several days after the Indonesian Police killed Dr Azahari, a mastermind of a series of terrorist attacks in Indonesia and his associate Arman in a raid in Batu, East Java, on Wednesday afternoon.
