Artificial rearing of wild camel proved successful

As is learned from Guasu Research Centre on Endangered Animals attached to Ministry of Forestry, the sole institution that artificially rears wild Bactrian camel in China, artificially rearing of wild Bactrian camel has been proved successful and so far the number of camels reared there has totaled 11.

It is said that it is the sole wild Bactrian camel community artificially reared in China and the four young camels born here are examples of successful artificial breeding, laying solid foundation for embryo transplantation.

Experts with the centre added that the success of artificial breeding of wild Bactrian camels is of vital importance to the protection of the species.
