Construction of China Nuclear Industrial Group's biggest R&D Center for war industry, nuclear power, and related instruments for civil use at the Yangtze River Delta kicked off in Shanghai on Nov 27.
The R&D center is located in Shanghai Caohejing High-tech Park. Covering 21,000 square meters, it is one of the biggest R&D centers in the park. The center will mainly specialize in research and design. It also offers management, service and trade.
China's nuclear industry is embracing an important opportunity for development. Nuclear power, nuclear fuel and nuclear application technology will become three pillars of the industry. China will have installed unclear capacity of 40 million kilowatts by 2020, accounting for 4 percent of its overall installed capacity. China has listed nuclear application technology in a special program for developing high-tech industry. Nuclear application technology market will have a scale of 100 billion yuan in five years, and maintains growth rate of 15 percent in the long term.
According to Wang Shoujun, deputy General Manager of China Nuclear Industrial Group, the group will finalize integration and research of the instrument control system for nuclear power plant, and offer digital instrument control products for the construction of nuclear plants.
