The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has decided to allot the opening ceremony of the maiden AFC Challenge Cup to Bangladesh.

The AFC President's Cup and Challenge Cup Organizing Committee made the decision at its meeting here on Monday, said the AFC.

Bangladesh and Nepal will co-host the tournament which will run from March 25 to April 9 next year, said the AFC in a press release here.

The final of the event will be played in Nepal, if Bangladesh does not make it to the summit clash, said the AFC, adding that Nepal will be the host even if both the hosts advance to the final.

The final match will be played in Bangladesh only if they reach the final against any other teams, the AFC added.
