The Islamic Jihad (Holy War) on Tuesday condemned Israeli arrest campaigns against Palestinian militants throughout the West Bank.
The group said in a statement the campaigns that have mounted over the past weeks were mainly aimed at the movement's activists and members.
The statement said such campaigns will never weaken Palestinian resistance, but will inspire the resistance with the blood of its martyrs.
Palestinian sources said that Israeli troops, backed by several armored vehicles and army jeeps, stormed Zabada village, south of Jenin, on Monday and besieged the home of a Palestinian.
The house owner, 23-year-old Amjad Al Far, was accused by Israel of being affiliated with the Islamic Jihad.
Also in Jenin, the Israeli army besieged Arab American University after midnight and arrested at least seven students, witnesses said.
They said all of the students are between 18 and 20.
Israeli media reported that the students were arrested for being affiliated with an Islamic party.
Meanwhile, Palestinian security sources said Israeli troops conducted a midnight raid in Tulkarm and searched for two wanted Islamic Jihad militants.
