France's National Assembly, lower house of parliament, on Tuesday adopted a new anti-terrorist law to allow greatly increased video surveillance in public places and administrative control.
The law bill, sponsored by Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy and inspired in the wake of the London transport bombings, has been passed by the 373 against 27.

The law bill is to be handed over to the Senate, upper house, for further discussion at mid-December. The French government hoped to have its adopted definitely by the end of the year.
