The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) sharply criticized the Israeli military on Wednesday for using dogs during a raid in the West Bank city of Jenin as a Palestinian teenage was bitten.
An official statement of the PNA said the ongoing Israeli military offensive in the West Bank and the use of dogs against Palestinian children were "completely condemned and rejected."
Earlier in the day, Israeli soldiers stormed a refugee camp in Jenin with the help of sniffer dogs, one of which bit Mohammed Qasem, a 12-year-old Palestinian boy, Palestinian security sources said.
Medics at the Rafidaya hospital said Qasem was seriously wounded from dog bites in the thigh.
Palestinian security sources revealed that a Jewish institution in the United States had donated 300 police dogs to Israel four months ago to help Israel fight Palestinian militants.
Backed by some 30 military vehicles and army jeeps, Israeli forces carried out raids in the West Bank cities of Jenin, Nablus and Bethlehem early on Wednesday, wounding five Palestinians and arresting nine others.
