China's textile export volume is expected to hit 116 billion US dollars this year despite increasing trade disputes, said sources with the China Textile Industry Association.
That figure would represent a 19.21 percent jump from last year's export volume, which stood at 97.3 billion US dollars in 2004.
The source attributed the increasing export volume to investment in fixed assets and technological advances during the country's 10th Five-Year plan (2001-2005) period which have enhanced the competitiveness of the processing enterprises in the industry.
Statistics from customs showed in the first 10 months of this year sales income and sales output value of the large-scale textile enterprises went up 26.33 percent and 26.28 percent, respectively, from the same period of last year.
