An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale rocked the seas over Moro Gulf, Mindanao, the Philippines, at 0:58 a.m. Thursday, according to the Hong Kong Observatory.

The epicenter was initially determined to be 6.2 north latitude, 124.0 east longitude, about 110 kilometers south-southwest of Cotabato.
