Polar expedition ship Xuelong arrives in Fremantle port, Australia
font size

After 11day's nonstop sailing, China's Antarctica Research ship Xuelong arrived in Fremantle port, Australia on Dec 5.

The ship will stay in Fremantle for four days to load supplies such as fresh water, vegetables, and living materials. Aero kerosene and materials for scientific research will be supplied too.

During the stay in Fremantle, the members of Chinese Antarctica Research Team can leave the ship for sightseeing and shopping nearby. Having floating in the ocean for nearly 20 days, they are looking forward to see the land and eager to experience the exotic flavors.

Xuelong will set out from Fremantle on Dec 9 and will arrive at the Zhongshan Station in Antarctica on Dec 18. During the voyage, it will cross the West-wind belt, a genuine challenge for the team members.
