Philips to make 10 billion yuan on China's consumer electronics market

China stands at an important position in the global market of Philips, said Rudy Provoost, senior vice president and CEO of Consumer Electronics of Royal Dutch Philips Electronics Ltd., Europe's largest electronic company.

Philips aims to have a market in China of 100 billion yuan by the year 2007.

Rudy Provoost said in Shanghai that Philips has been growing at a rate of 30 percent in the past three years.

Philips has seen a remarkable growth in its market share of DVD player, home theater, mobile phone and monitor in China. Generally. All of them rank top three, mostly first or second place, among the foreign brands in China.

In 2004, Philips made a turnover of nine billion US dollars in China, 60 percent of which through export.
