Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that Israel should establish its state on the German or Austrian soil since the two European countries feel responsible for the slaughter of millions of Jews during World War II, the official IRNA news agency reported.
The hardline president made the remarks during a two-day meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), which just wrapped up in the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
This came after Ahmadinejad said in October that Israel should be "wiped off the map", remarks which drew criticism from many countries.
Ahmadinejad said the Europeans shouldn't atone for their crimes by giving the Palestinian land to the Jews, adding that Iran would support a Jewish state established on the European soil.
Israel accuses Iran of developing nuclear weapons, and Iran refuses to recognize the State of Israel.
