Two US soldiers were announced killed on Monday in Iraq, when a roadside bomb detonated in Baghdad and killed a US soldier and another died the day before in a suicide car bombing, the military said.
"A Task Force Baghdad Soldier was killed when a patrol struck an improvised explosive device south of Baghdad Dec. 12," the military said in a statement.
The military also announced that another US soldier was killed on Sunday in a suicide car bomb attack near Iraq's western city of Ramadi.
The names of the killed soldiers were being withheld pending notification of next of kin, the statements said.
The deaths have brought to more than 2,140 the number of US military personnel who have died in Iraq since the US-led invasion in March 2003, according to media tally.
