Top legislature to vote on abolishing agricultural tax regulationsChinese lawmakers are expected to vote on abolishing agricultural tax regulations during a five-and-a-half-day session to commence on Dec. 24, sources said here Friday. According to the agenda, lawmakers will also deliberate on the draft administrative mandatory law, the draft labor contract law and the draft passport law for the first time. The agenda was proposed Friday at a meeting of the chairman andvice-chairpersons of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature. The lawmakers are also expected to vote for adopting the draft law on animal husbandry, and discuss a draft judicial interpretation on Criminal Law applications in smuggling, destroying, illegal selling and transferring fossils of ancient vertebrate animals and ancient men; a draft judicial interpretation on the provisions of the Criminal Law, which relateto punishment on illegal export tax rebate; the draft amendment tothe Criminal Law (sixth edition); and the draft resolution on the convention of the fourth plenary session of the 10th NPC. The State Council, or cabinet, will submit the Treaty on Criminal Judicial Assistance between China and Peru and the Treatyon Friendly Cooperative Partnership between China and Uzebkistan to the upcoming session for deliberation and ratification. The lawmakers will also hear and discuss the reports on the current energy security situation and on revitalization of the northeast industrial belt made by the State Council and the reporton the inspection for the implementation of the Labor Law, organized by the NPC Standing Committee.
