The European center for China silk companies has been settled in Cologne, Germany. Germany's Nordrhein-Westfalen declared this during its recent campaign to attract Chinese investors. Anyone who deposit 25,000 euro with any German bank as the registration capital can have his/her own company and thus enjoy an access to the German and European market.

Official statistics show that more than 600 Chinese businesses have invested in Germany so far. That is nearly 10 percent of the total overseas investment by Chinese enterprises. At least 50 state-owned or private Chinese companies have made presence in Cologne.
