Indonesia's motorcycle production rises 34 pct

Motorcycle production in Indonesia surged by 34.7 percent year-on-year to 4.75 million units in the first 11 months of the year, a local daily reported Tuesday.

Honda motorcycle topped the list with 2.48 million, or 52.3 percent of the market share, trailed by Yamaha with 1.12 million and Suzuki with 1.04 million, reported Bisnis Indonesia, quoting data from the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI).

Total production of seven manufacturers grouping in the AISI reached 4.76 million units.

Kawasaki is in distant fourth with 74,875 units, Kanzen improves the rank from seventh to sixth this year with 17,974 units, Kymco with 13,891 units and Piaggio with 578 units.
