Edmundo arrested for dangerous driving

Police arrested former Brazil striker Edmundo for dangerous driving and contempt of authority after he argued with police after leaving a nightclub early Monday.

Edmundo, who played for Brazil at the 1998 World Cup in France, was released on bail of 3,000 reals (US$1,270).

Local media said Edmundo refused to obey an order to leave his car and called the police action a "joke."
