The trial of toppled Iraqi president Saddam Hussein and seven of his co-defendants resumed in Baghdad on Wednesday, two weeks after Saddam refused to appear in what he said "unjust court".
Saddam and his seven co-defendants are accused of crimes against humanity over the massacre at Dujail, where over 148 Shiite villagers executed by Saddam regime after he survived an assassination attempt in 1982.
Saddam made his appearance in the sixth session, headed by the chief judge Rizgar Mohammed Amin, after he refused to appear in the Dec. 7 session.
On Dec. 6, Saddam shouted that he would not return to the court, complaining that he had no fresh clothes and had been deprived of shower and exercise facilities.
"I will not return. I will not come to an unjust court. Go to Hell," an angry Saddam declared at the court.
