Ten major IPR cases in Beijing, 2005
font size

The Beijing High Court declared ten cases of intellectual property rights in 2005. Among them three involved foreign parties, TOEFL copyright, Montagut trademark and Dunhill trademark, and all of the three ended with the Chinese defendants losing.

The judge for IPR cases at the High Court said nearly 2000 IPR cases have been handled so far this year, rising 40 percent over last year. Most of the disputes are on copyright. And trademark infringement cases show the fastest growth.

The ten major IPR cases are: TOEFL exam paper copyright; Montagut trademark; Dunhill trademark; patent for the hot pressing and sealing technique for glass and metal; digital library of Beijing Sursen Company; trade secrete of a hundred-year maker of the Chinese ink; Beijing Liyafangzhou's photo stickers software; the trademark of the Hongshi group; a pain killer for neck and waist diseases; Founder's software for Chinese font.
