France urged Iran to quickly make " necessary decisions" to relaunch the talks on its nuclear issue, the French Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
Referring to new proposals from Moscow to try to tackle the nuclear issue, the ministry's spokesman Denis Simmoneau told reporters that "we have noted the public announcement by the Iranian authorities marking their new readiness to seriously study these Russian proposals."
"Time is now pressing and it is up to Iran to take the necessary decisions to relaunch a negotiating process, in line with the wishes of the international community," he said.
France, Germany and Britain have represented the European Union to lead negotiations with Teheran to ensure that its officially described civilian nuclear program does not hide military ambitions.
According to the French spokesman, Russian's proposals to allow Iran to conduct uranium enrichment in Russia include "certain interesting ideas that are in line with European proposals".
Iran agreed this week to study the offer, that it rejected before.
Simmoneau also said that the European and Iranian leaders had talks on Dec. 21 in Vienna on the subject and new "exploratory discussions" were scheduled for January.
