CCTV 2005 Chinese business figures awarded

Ten figures including Deng Zhonghan, president of Vimicro Corporation, have been selected CCTV 2005 Chinese business figures ofthe year, which is regarded the most prestigious honor in business circle.

The awarding ceremony was held Wednesday.

Yin Tongyao, president of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. picked the award of independent innovation and environmentalist Liao Xiaoyi won the award of social benefit.

The ten economic figures of the year are:

Pan Gang, board chairman of Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co., Ltd.

Wei Jiafu, president of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO)

Yin Tongyao, president of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd.

Li Yanhong, board chairman and CEO of Baidu.com, Inc.

Deng Zhonghan, president of Vimicro Corporation

Fu Chengyu, president of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC)

Liang Wengen, chairman of Sany Group Co., Ltd.

Wang Jianlin, president of Dalian Wanda Group Co., Ltd.

Tan Xuguang, board chairman and CEO of Weichai Power Co., Ltd.

Zhou Houjian, board chairman Hisense Group

It is the sixth time for China Central Television (CCTV) to organize the selection of Chinese business figures of the year. Key criteria this time are "innovation, responsibility, influence and motivation." "Innovation" is the core theme of the selection this year.
