China is expecting more than two gold medals at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin, a top official said Sunday in Changchun.
"We expect gold at more than short track speed skating," said Wang Yitao, director of China's winter sports administration center.
Yang Yang ended China's winter Olympic gold drought in history by taking two short track titles in 2002.
Wang, also president of the Chinese Ski Association, said China now has potential to win its first ever Olympic ski gold, from women's freestyle aerials.
China swept the top two finishes in the event at the two World Cup legs held in Changchun last December, becoming an odds-on favorite in Turin.
