Top Brazilian soccer club Sao Paulo has chosen Muricy Ramalho, who coached league club International to a second place in the Copa Libertadores, to replace current manager Paulo Auturi, the team said in a statement posted on its website on Monday.
The club added that Ramalho would hold a press conference on Tuesday. Local press said that the manager had signed a one-year contract, but the website did not give further details.
Sao Paulo has won three world titles, three Libertadores, three national league titles and 22 state titles. Previous coach Auturi left the club last week, after helping the club to win the club world championships, because of a better offer from Japan's Kashima Antlers.
