The Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) will install 20 more TV transmitters as part of the country's rural TV project, ZNBC confirmed here Wednesday.
ZNBC public relations manager Mirriam Tonga said 12 more districts of the southern African country will benefit from the new transmitters at the cost of 4.2 billion kwacha (1.2 million U. S. dollars).
The government has already released funds for the procurement of the equipment and the new transmitters will be installed by the end of March this year.
ZNBC is now carrying out refining work on 26 cable satellite television (CASAT) installed transmitters at remote TV sites around the country, Tonga said.
Since the government started the project to take TV to all parts of Zambia in 1979, of the total 73 districts 31 districts have already been provided transmitters.
