Northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region reported an export volume of 105.45 million US dollars with what has become its No. 1 trade partner, the United States in 2005, according to the regional government.
Statistics with the regional statistics bureau showed that by November 2005, Ningxia had forged trade cooperative ties with 117 foreign countries. Asia, Europe and North America remain the major markets for its exports.
In the first eleven months of 2005, the export trade volume between Ningxia and Asian countries stood at 296.54 million US dollars, dropping by 7.2 percent compared with that in 2004.
Meanwhile, the region's export volume with Europe and North America soared to reach 166.67 million US dollars and 115.63 million US dollars, up by 20.09 percent and 44.56 percent, respectively.
The region saw an increase in export volume with Italy and India but a decline with its Japanese and the Republic of Korea (ROK) trade partners.
