China's crude oil imports in 2005 grew 3.3 percent to 130 million tons, said the General Administration of Customs of China on Wednesday.
According to statistics of the General Administration of Customs, China's imports last year came to 660.12 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 17.6 percent.
But, the imports of automobile and steel products decreased in 2005.
The imports of primary products last year surged 26 percent to 147.71 billion dollars, making up 19.4 percent of the total national import value in 2005, the Customs said.
In 2005, China's imports of iron ores, edible oil, paper pulp and soybean reached 280 million tons, 6.21 million tons, 7.59 million tons and 26.59 million tons respectively.
China's imports of industrial products last year also increased 15.4 percent to 512.41 billion dollars, in which the automobiles dropped by 7.3 percent from the previous year to 163,000 units, and the steel products down by 11.9 percent to 25.82 million tons, said the Customs.
