China has set up its first petrochemical museum in Shanghai, providing visitors with a showcase of history and high-tech developments in the petrochemical industry.
Covering an area of about 1,500 square meters, the museum includes four exhibition halls displaying technology development in the sector such as petroleum formation, explorations of oil fields, the production of petrochemicals and manufacturing plastic fiber.
The museum also offers 14 knowledge-publicity programs featuring the close relations between the petrochemical industry and daily life.
One of the 17 major industrial science and technology exhibition centers in Shanghai, the museum is built jointly by the Shanghai commission of science and technology and the Shanghai Petrochemical Ltd.
