The second showroom will be opened at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo to display 12 mummies that date back to the Pharaoh era, according to the official MENA news agency.

Egyptian Minister of Culture Farouq Hosni will inaugurate the new showroom by the end of this month, said Wafa Sadiq, the museum 's director.

The mummies including those of kings and priests of ancient Egypt were unearthed in the southern Egyptian city of Luxor late in the 18th century and kept at the museum's basement.

The Egyptian Museum, one of the major tourist attractions in Egypt, houses the richest store of relics of ancient Egyptian civilization.
