Diarrhea outbreak in central Philippines under control
font size

A diarrhea outbreak in the central Philippines has been put under control, the Department of Health ( DOH) said on Thursday.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque said in a radio interview that there have been no new cases reported recently in Palawan province and the residents with diarrhea are receiving medical treatment.

It was reported tht 28 people have been killed and some 200 residents affected by diarrhea in Palawan since Nov. 16, 2005.

In the interview with Radio dzMM, Duque advised residents to observe hygiene, boil their water for 15 to 20 minutes to ensure that germs would be killed, and wash their hands before eating.

Health officials will continue to monitor the affected villages though diarrhea have been put under control, he said.
