Costa Rica wants 6,000 tickets for each World Cup game

The Costa Rican Football Association (Fedefut) will ask for 6,000 tickets for each Costa Rica game in the World Cup soccer finals, Fedefut director Hermes Navarro told local radio station Monumental on Wednesday.

The federation has recieved only 11,000 for the three games where Costa Rica will definitely take part: those against Ecuador, Germany and Poland in Group A. But the tickets were swiftly sold out, angering fans.

Sales were high both to travel agencies and to fans who wanted to go on their own account, Navarro said.

"We had to act in an almost Solomon-like way: cutting the ticket allocations to 66 percent. But demand remains high so I want 6,000 tickets for each game," he said.
