After June 1 next year, manufacturers will not be allowed to produce, sell and export toys without compulsory Chinese government certificates.
Sources from the Chinese Association of Light Industry said Thursday that China has recently made public the compulsory quality certification catalog for toys, a step aimed at improving the quality of China's toys in the international market.
The association said that six major types of toys including baby carriages, electronic toys, plastic toys, shooting toys, metal toys and dolls have been listed in the first group in the catalog.
The State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said that Chinese toy companies may apply for certification from March 1 this year.
