Venezuela is applying to the world's swimming ruling body FINA for the right to host the world league on women's waterpolo, Venezuelan watersports chief Lourdes de Goncalvez said on Thursday.

The event is scheduled for June 30 to July 30, with 20 countries from the Americas, Asia and Europe competing.
