France rejected on Wednesday Iran's proposal to resume talks with Europe on nuclear issue.

"The unilateral resumption of sensitive activities announced by Iran on January 9 means it is not possible for us to meet in satisfactory conditions to pursue these talks," French Foreign Ministry spokesman Denis Simonneau said.

"Iran must first return to a full suspension of these activities."

According to him, the Iranians voiced the wish to meet again with the three European nations of France, Germany and Great Britain at the ministerial level, as well as EU's foreign policy chief Javier Solana.

French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy will start a two- day visit to Moscow Wednesday dominated by the Iranian nuclear crisis.

Britain on Tuesday also rejected its offer to restart talks.

Iran resumed nuclear research earlier January, including small- scale enrichment to test centrifuges, while insisting that it is separate from full-scale uranium enrichment.
