A research report on online games has been officially released at the annual meeting of the game industry of China in 2005, according to a Guangming Daily report. The report says that more than 10 million school students went in for online games in the country last year.
China's online game subscribers stood at 26.34 million by the end of 2005, of them, school students constituted 38.9 per cent to exceed more than 10 million, and the figure is still continuing to grow, says the report released by China Game Publishers' Association (CGPA).
The online game subscribers were mainly aged between 16-30, of them, the age group between 19 and 22 accounted for 33.3 per cent and the group aged between 22-25 made up 28.4 per cent. Of the subscribers, 58.8 per cent were out of "pure entertainment".
