Senior Chinese leader Luo Gan Friday visited public security staff and family members of a died policeman in Beijing and extended Spring Festival greetings to all public security staff of the country and their family members.
Luo, who is member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, visited a community emergency response command center, a contingent of the armed police, wife and son of a policeman who died on duty and the criminal investigation team of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Public Security.
He praised the contributions of the public security staff and called on them to make new contributions to maintaining social order and promoting social harmony.
"The overall situation in China's economic and social development is excellent at present, but there still exist many factors that influence social stability," said Luo, who is also secretary of the Committee of Political Science and Law under the CPC Central Committee. "The task of maintaining social order is very arduous."
He called on the public security staff to concretely improve security job during the Spring Festival period and ensure people in the Chinese capital enjoy a happy and peaceful Spring Festival.
