Polling for the Cambodian Senate elections kicked off on Sunday morning throughout the country.
About 11,261 legitimate voters of commune councilors and 123 parliamentarians are expected to cast their votes at 33 polling stations in eight constituencies of 24 provinces and municipalities.
Four political parties will compete for 57 of the 61 Senate seats. The remaining four seats will be appointed by the National Assembly and the King.
Hun Sen, the parliamentarian and Prime Minister, cast his vote in Kandal's Takhmau district, about seven km south of the capital.
The results of the elections will be announced later on Sunday.
