Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang wished a continuous economic recovery for Hong Kong in 2006 and expected all Hong Kong households to benefit from Hong Kong's improved economy.

He made the remarks to the press after visiting the Lunar New Year Fair being held at the Hong Kong Victoria Park Friday afternoon.

Tsang said he saw many citizens were preparing goods for the Lunar Chinese new year starting from Jan. 28 and the park was crowded by citizens one day before the new year's eve, when usually witnesses the biggest number of Hong Kong citizens during the fair.

He said he is confident that so long as the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government and the Hong Kong citizens join their efforts, Hong Kong would surely witness a continuos economic recovery in the year of dog.

Tsang also wished a good lunar new year to all the Hong Kong citizens.

When Tsang arrived at the Victoria Park with his wife Friday afternoon, many citizens came to shake hands and have pictures taken with them.

The Chief Executive said "Hello" to the citizens here and there and wished them a merry lunar new year.

Tsang visited three booths and bought a "golden boy and jade maiden" handicraft and "God of Fortune" cashbox. He said he expected to introduce investment and treasures for Hong Kong people by purchasing the objects.

He also bought three kinds of fresh flowers meaning good lucks.
