Seychelles' FM highly values ties with China

Seychelles' Foreign Minister Patrick Pillay on Monday spoke highly of China's unselfish aid and support to his country.

Addressing a reception hosted by overseas Chinese in Seychelles to celebrate China's Lunar New Year, Pillay said this year marks the 30th anniversary of the independence of Seychelles and the establishment of diplomatic ties between Seychelles and China.

The Indian Ocean island country would not have achieved rapid development in the past three decades without the assistance and support from the Chinese government and people, he said.

The foreign minister also valued the contribution by overseas Chinese in Seychelles to the country's economic development and wished them all the best in the new year.
