The Uganda Amateur Boxing Federation (UABF) has selected six boxers to participate in the forthcoming African Zone V boxing tournament in Arusha, Tanzania, local press reported on Wednesday.

UABF general secretary Sande Musoke said that the team, that is under national coach Dick Katende, is to leave for Tanzania on Thursday (February 2) by road.

He explained that the team has been selected on merit and "we should expect good results from it."

"This team has been selected well and we should expect medals from them," Musoke said.

According to UABF, the team includes Jolly Katongole (light flyweight), Philip Ad yak (flyweight), Charles Mulindwa (light welterweight), and Obin Michaael (welterweight).
