Gold price higher in Hong Kong -- Feb. 1

The gold price in Hong Kong rose 69 HK dollars to 5,221 HK dollars per tael on Tuesday, according to the Bank of China (Hong Kong).

The price is equivalent to 565.64 U.S. dollars a troy ounce, up 7.40 U.S. dollars at Wednesday's exchange rate of one U.S. dollar against 7.748 HK dollars.

The Hong Kong financial market resumed operation from Wedesday after closing for the four-day lunar Chienese new year holiday.
