Jiangsu leads in attracting foreign investment last 3 years

The total amount of actual foreign investment in East China's Jiangsu Province reached 13.18 billion US dollars, an increase of 29.2 per cent in 2005 compared with that of the same period the previous year, ranking the top across the nation. The accumulated direct foreign investment broke the record of 100 billion US dollars to reach 103 billion US dollars, according to the latest statistics released by the Jiangsu Statistics Bureau.

Jiangsu has surpassed Guangdong Province in attracting foreign investment for three consecutive years since 2003. The use of foreign investment in Jiangsu is expanding in an all-round way. The actual foreign investment in 13 cities directly under the provincial government keeps growing. However, the investment in the five cities, including Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, Zhenjiang and Nanjing, reached 9.87 billion US dollars, which accounted for 74.9 percent of the total actual foreign investment in the province.
