Over 350 runners from 14 foreign countries have confirmed participation in the scheduled Kilimanjaro international marathon race, according to race organizers.

Foreign runners for the Kilimanjaro marathon, slated for Feb. 26 in Moshi of northern Tanzania, will be hailing from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Britain, Canana, Germany, Kenya, the Netherlands, Poland, South Africa, Sweden, the United States, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Some 300 foreign runners took part in last year's Kilimanjaro marathon which Kenyan runners Tubei John Chirchir and Roberi Komen finished a one-two in two hours 20 minutes 23 seconds and 2:20:48 respectively.

The race, now an annual event on the IAAF calendar, is held at an altitude of 1,800 meters on average above sea leve at the foot of Africa's highest mountain peak.
