Forty-two percent of local operators of chain-store businesses in Taiwan showed their interest in the mainland's chain-store market, says a latest survey by the local franchise association.
This figure is much more than those who are interested in other markets like India, Japan, Russia and the United States, according to reports by Taiwan-based media.
About 20 percent of the people interviewed were in favor of India, while Japan, Russia, and the United States scored 5 percent, 5 percent and 4 percent, respectively.
These figures were disclosed at a recent get-together to celebrate the Spring Festival, the traditional Chinese Lunar New Year.
About 80 percent of name brands in the sector in Taiwan have opened more than 10,000 franchise shops in the mainland.
