Local tests showed one more woman in Indonesia died of bird flu, a health official said Saturday.
Dewi Sartika, 37, from Bekasi, a town in West Java province, died overnight at a local Hospital, Hariadi Wibisono, a director of Indonesian Health Ministry confirmed by telephone.
She was the second woman from same town who died of bird flu according to local tests within two days, said Wibisono.
A 23-year-old woman from Bekasi, died of bird flu at the same hospital on Friday.
The blood and swap samples of the two women had been sent to a World Health Organization (WHO) sanctioned laboratory in Hong Kong for further tests, he added.
If those tests come back positive, Indonesia's official human death toll from the virus would climb to 18.
