Israeli troops on early Tuesday arrested 19 Palestinians from the Islamic Jihad and Fatah movement in cities, refugee camps and towns throughout the West Bank, according to Palestinian security sources.
The sources said that Israeli army, backed by armored vehicles and tanks, stormed al-Azza refugee camp in Bethlehem and arrested at least one Palestinian man, a wanted Jihad militant by Israel.
According to the sources, six other Palestinians were also arrested in Balata refugee camp in Nablus and were taken to unknown place.
Meanwhile, seven Palestinians also believed to be Jihad activists were arrested in Hebron while two others were arrested in Ramallah. All were taken to unknown place.
Israeli forces also continued their raids in Jenin and Tubas in the northern West Bank, where many Israeli soldiers and a large number of armored vehicles deployed.
Eyewitnesses said that the Israeli soldiers in Jenin and Tubas detonated sound grenades and stormed several Palestinians' houses using police dogs to search for suspect contents.
Jenin Governor, Quadoura Mousa, condemned Israel's imposing a closure of the area for the third week and urged the European countries and the United Nations to intervene and pressure Israel to end its military practices.
