Brazil's national soccer team will field its normal squad of 22 players on March 1, the team's warm-up for the 2006 Germany World Cup, but veteran captain Cafu and Roque Jr, who are both injured, will not play the friendly with Russia, local media reported on Tuesday.
"We will field the team we are using: it's no time to experiment," said Brazilian national team manager Carlos Albert Perreira, who said he wished he had more friendly games, after the Moscow-based frieldly, to practise with before the main event in April.
Brazil has a surfiet of good players, including the best player from Spanish league team Barcelona -- Ronaldo de Assis known as Ronaldinho, named by the International Football Federations as the world's best player two years in a row. Inter Milan's Adriano and Real Madrid's Ronaldo Nazario and Robson de Souza are also available.
Parreira said he would be sad to replace Cafu, 35, who has captained three World Cups, but is now suffering a knee injury.
He will probably have to rely on Cicinho.
Roque Junior, who plays for Bayer Leverkusen, played in Brazil's 2002 campaign and is practically assured a place if he recovers from his injury.
Julio Cesar, goalkeeper for Inter Milan will replace Marcos, the expected keeper, who is also suffering an injury.
But the only completely new players are Gustavo Nery, of Brazilian league team Corinthians, who is back up for Roberto Carlos of Madrid; and Fred, a striker for French league team Lyon replaces injured Real Betis player Ricardo Oliveira.
