Apple launches first Intel notebook
font size

Apple officially launched its first MacBook, using Intel's dual core engine, which is actually two processors (up to 2.16GHz) engineered onto a single chip in China yesterday.

Up to four times the speed of the PowerBook G4, the price of the notebook starts at 19900 yuan, the high price indicates Apple's continuous high-end strategy in Chinese market.

Analysts say Apple's cooperation with Intel, but not IBM and Motorola, is based on Intel's fast microprocessor upgrading.

Apple China also announced price reduction of some low-end products yesterday, the lowest price of iPodshuffle slumped to 690 yuan and price of 1GiPodnano was reduced to 1500 yuan.
