China, Mongolia discuss women's rights
font size

Chinese and Mongolian female leaders met in Beijing Thursday to discuss women's rights in the two countries.

"China and Mongolia have a good track record in cooperating on women's rights," Gu Xiulian, president of the All-China Women's Federation, told the chairperson of the Mongolian Democratic Socialist Women's Association Altai Dulbaagiin, who headed a delegation for a week-long visit to China.

Gu, also vice-chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the country's top legislature, said that China would like to step up cooperation with Mongolia.

Echoing Gu's remarks, Altai Dulbaagiin said Mongolia would like to exchange views with China on how to safeguard women's rights and improve impoverished women's lives.

The two sides also talked about working together on women-related projects.
