China's petty border trade grows 38.6 pct in 2005

China's petty border trade volume in 2005 rose 38.6 percent from the previous year to 13.13 billion U.S. dollars, the Ministry of Commerce said on Monday.

Meanwhile China's petty border exports totaled 7.41 billion dollars, jumping 67.2 percent from the previous year, 38.8 percent higher than the growth rate of China's total export in 2005, according to the ministry.

In December alone, China's petty border trade volume grew 16.5 percent year-on-year to 1.34 billion dollars. China's petty border export in that month rose 14.1 percent to 840 million dollars.
